Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 June 2026
1. Your account
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You’re responsible for all activity under your account. Don’t share your account, and don’t create accounts to impersonate others or evade restrictions.
2. Fair play & acceptable use
While using Code Arena, you agree not to:
- Plagiarise, copy, buy, or share solutions, or submit work that isn’t your own.
- Distribute, leak, or publish event problems, hidden test cases, or other participants’ submissions.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or tamper with platform safeguards.
- Attack, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with the platform or the code-execution engine.
- Use the service for anything unlawful or to harm other participants.
3. AI use, detection & scoring
Submissions are evaluated using official test cases and our own machine-learning analysis. We detect AI-generated content, and score multipliers or adjustments may be applied based on factors such as code quality, originality, and AI-generated content detection. For prompt-based questions, all submissions are processed through the same selected AI model with no hidden context; only the resulting output / evaluation is shown to you. The details of the evaluation pipeline, model configuration, prompts, and scoring methodology may not be disclosed. The Event Coordinator and Faculty Panel reserve the right to review submissions, adjust scores, resolve disputes, and make final decisions on all event-related matters.
4. Your submissions & ownership
You keep ownership of the code and prompts you submit. By submitting, you grant Malabar Matrix a non-exclusive license to store, run, compile, grade, and display your submissions (for example, on leaderboards and in your submission history) as needed to operate the events and the platform. This license lasts only as long as needed for those purposes.
5. Disqualification & termination
If you breach these terms or the event rules, we may void affected scores, remove submissions, disqualify you from an event, or suspend or terminate your account — at the organiser’s discretion and without prior notice where the integrity of a competition is at risk.
6. Service “as is”
Code Arena is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work to keep it reliable, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and events may occasionally be affected by downtime or technical issues. To the extent permitted by law, Malabar Matrix isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use Code Arena after changes means you accept the revised terms.
